Religion is a safe approximation of a dangerous God. Science is a rational explanation of a messy universe. Mathematics is an orderly account of something whose nature is so complex that to look beyond the veil of that certainty would destroy all of man's knowledge.
I now understand why we refuse to understand, why we refuse to look. Truth is dangerous and inexorable. God cannot be known as He Himself knows.
